It's here! The feel-good hit of the summer: Oaktown Alligators at the Oakland Swing Dance Festival 2003. Thanks to Jeff for digitizing and titleing it from the original videotape -- you really ought to be in the credits!

The video is about 22 megabytes -- about a minute download if you've got broadband, probably more like half an hour if you're on a regular modem. The format is DivX encoded AVI, playable in Windows Media Player and RealOne player. (You may need to install the DivX codec for this to work on your system...at least I had to.)

It's not a streaming format, so you'll have to download it to your hard drive first, then play it from there. The file is linked here.
If it doesn't play on your system, you probably need to download this file (about 3 megabytes) and run it, which will install the codec. You don't have to use the DivX player that comes with that download...it should do the right thing to let the Windows Media Player or RealOne play it.

Mac users, I guess you're on your own if your system won't play the AVI file. I'll add further directions/downloads here if someone can figure out what needs to be done.

BTW, there are a few seconds of audio before the video fades in, so don't flip out it you don't see an image immediately on starting the clip.

NEW:  You can download the music to our new routine here:  Lord_and_Lady_Gate.mp3 (about 3 megabytes).
Enjoy!
